Daniel Benn is a professional cellist who has studied with Louise Hopkins at the Guildhall School where he gained a distinction in performance, Alexander Baillie while studying music at New College, Oxford and Michal Kaznowski of the Maggini Quartet.
Recent concerto engagements include several performances of Dvorak, Schumann, Haydn and Elgar in the UK and on tour to Europe, including his debut at Cadogan Hall. He is a founding member of the Accendo Quartet who were winners of the Cavatina and St James Chamber Music Awards and have since performed at Wigmore Hall and St John's Smith Square.
As an orchestral musician, Daniel has led the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and the Birmingham Royal Ballet as well as being awarded trials with the London Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, The Hallé and the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. He was a member of the London Philharmonic Orchestra's Foyle Future First scheme in 2018-19 as well as the London Sinfonietta's Academy in 2018. He was also invited to perform with the John Wilson Orchestra for their BBC Proms performance in 2019, "The Warner Brothers Story".
Daniel has played in masterclasses, both solo and chamber, with Rolf Gothoni, Rebecca Gilliver, Raphael Wallfisch and the Belcea Quartet.
